Thank You President Bush!!!

I'm not really too sure about their innocence. Shooting a man in the bum indicates that he was running away. He was also running across a national border when it happened.

Moreover, the guy could've been anyone. It is not the role of police officers to kill suspected criminals - that role has been designated to others within the legal structure, and only after guilt has been proved.

This sort of thing sums up what is really wrong with the US at the moment. The assumption of guilt allows police/soldiers to unleash deadly force. It's a mob mentality, much like the mobs who lynched negroes in the early 20th century when black folk were declared guilty before a trial could take place.

These two guys shot and killed a man running away from them.

You might want to read the following article:

The man was not killed, just shot in the butt. He made it back across the border and was later granted immunity to testify against the officers. They were not pardoned by President Bush... their excessive sentence was commuted. There is a difference.

My mistake.

They did cover up their wrongdoing though.

Yes, that is why their sentence was commuted and they were not pardoned. They were sentenced to 10 and 12 years and have already served 2. The sentence was too harsh. Especially when the man in question is a drug dealer and was granted immunity.
